Perry Hall is a Rights Respecting School; we ensure that the well being of the children is at the heart of our school community. We attained our Silver Award (Rights Aware) in July 2018 and are continuing on our journey towards gaining a Gold Award. The school vision and values link to the UNCRC (United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child) which (underpin) support the ethos of our school life, including British Values, SMSC, our Gold Healthy School Accreditation (July 2017) and PSHE.
The UNCRC was established as 54 articles, in 1989 by Unicef, applying to all children under the age of 18, without discrimination, whatever their ethnicity, gender, religion, languages or ability, whatever they think or say, whatever their family background.
The RRSA (Rights Respecting School Award) focuses on children’s rights, developing a whole school approach. The school community teaches children’s rights, so they are taught, learned, practised, respected, protected and promoted, also encouraging the children to look at the global issues.
