Computing

Our children and their families use technology, in a variety of forms, throughout their daily lives.  At Perry Hall we aim to teach children to use technology to benefit themselves, others and the planet.  We want our pupils to be desktop, tablet, robot, machine literate; flowing knowledgeably from one form of technology to another.  At the centre of the use of technology is the vital importance of their personal safety on and off the screen.

At Perry Hall we provide children with an exciting, high-quality, computing education that produces competent, confident computer users, who are digitally literate on various devices. We ensure that our children have a secure knowledge of e-safety and have the skills to tackle any upsetting or inappropriate content they might access online and the self-assurance to reach out to safe adults for help if they feel concerned about anything.

Computing progressively follows the National Curriculum and is closely linked to our termly Expeditions so challenges are relevant, meaningful and stimulates children's interest.  Pupils have access to iPads, desktop computers, Beebots, microphones, Padcaster and online subject specific learning platforms to support their learning at school and at home.
